Last weekend (7th & 8th May) I was at the Northern Shooting Show, at The Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate. Working on the Swarovski stand, along with McInnes and Norm (a great double-act!), it was good to see such an enthusiastic gathering for this first such event ‘up north’.
I took most of the stand display up there in the rather roomy back of my Isuzu D-Max, which was so full that I didn’t even have enough room for that most important of items: the espresso machine!
Certainly the stand looked good by the time we had set up. We had lots of people coming on, particularly keen to find out about the new Z8i ‘scope with its very adaptable Ballistic Turret Flex. There were even one or two shooters who were eager to get a first hands-on look at a Z8i that they already have on order, and are having to wait until June for delivery into the Swarovski dealers.
The unseasonably hot Sunday afternoon weather slowed things down a little, but all-in-all the Show was a great success. We’re now looking forward to next year’s event, when we are promised a fantastic new, larger, air-conditioned (?) hall. No doubt the weather will be normal then: chilly and damp…..
